The
International Air Transport Association
(IATA) brings together approximately
270 airlines, including the World's
largest. Since these airlines face a
rapidly changing world, they must cooperate
in order to offer a seamless service
of the highest possible standard to
Passengers and Freight forwarders.
Continual efforts by IATA ensure that
people, freight and mail can move around
the vast global airline network as easily
as if they were on a single airline
in a single country.
In addition, IATA helps to ensure that
members' aircraft operate safely, securely,
efficiently & economically under
clearly defined and understood rules.

Travelscene
- American Express
The largest, most powerful buying group
in Australia was established in 1980
to ensure the travelling public is benefiting
of the best and cheapest airfares available,
as well as Car Rentals, Hotel Accommodation
and Holiday Packages.
Travelscene commenced operations to
capitalise on the greater buying power
of a group of travel agents supporting
selected preferred suppliers. In September
2003 an Alliance Agreement had been
entered into with American Express Limited
of Delaware USA. Under this Agreement
Travelscene has been granted the exclusive
master franchise to appoint Travelscene-American
Express Representative Offices in Australia.
Current Position of Travelscene-American Express
The Australian Travel Industry profession
is dominated by a relatively small number
of groups, known generally as the multi-agency
groups. For many years Travelscene had
been recognised as a significant body
within this group.
The merger with American Express makes
Travelscene now, a more significant
and powerful buying group. |
